What is in it for me?
The opportunity to give back to the community. There are many social platforms where people can complain or give feedback on matters and products. None of these platforms, however, consolidate opinions into research reports which support decision-making. MyOpinion is a source through which your opinion will be heard.
What happens if I don’t ever complete a survey?
Nothing happens. You will only lose out on the opportunity to benefit from rewards.
It is, however, advantageous to complete surveys since the number of surveys completed not only earn you rewards, but also improve your rating with myOpinion. People with a higher rating will be first in line for selection when only a limited number of surveys needs to be completed.
What happens if the people I have invited never complete surveys?
Nothing happens. You will simply not earn extra rewards.
How much will I get paid for the completion of a survey?
Rewards will only be paid out when studies are conducted by companies who pay for the research to be done. When free research is done on behalf of NGO’s or community initiatives, no rewards will be paid out. When rewards do get paid out, the reward for the completion of a survey depends on the length of the survey and the number of questions. A 30-minute survey can earn the participant R200 or more. A 5-minute survey can easily earn you R20.
The length and value of each questionnaire will be visible before you start.
How do I invite my friends and family to become part of myOpinion?
On the bottom of the home page you will see a “refer a friend” tab. After clicking on it, you will be given the option to generate a link. Generate a link and send this unique link to your friends. The provided link will send your friends to the sign-up page and automatically save your details in the system as the person who referred him or her.
What if I randomly select answers without even reading the questions?
Surveys are structured in such a manner that the questions cross-check each other.
For example, Q1: “Do you prefer steak rather than chicken?” Yes or No?
Q22: “Do you prefer chicken rather than steak?” Yes or No?
If you select “Yes” on both answers, you clearly did not read the question and the survey will automatically be discarded. You will not be paid for a discarded survey.
It is therefore extremely important to read every question very carefully and answer every question honestly.
How do I get the money I earned?
Money will be cashed out either by an eft, or by using of a cash transfer to a bank ATM.
The first “cash out” must be at least R1000, after which money can be cashed out in increments of R500 or more.
Is this not too easy and simply too good to be true?
Not at all! Big companies spend millions each year researching the markets trying to find out what their customers want. Doing research by going to a shopping mall in search of people willing to stop and fill out a survey is extremely labour-intensive and expensive. Doing research through this website is simpler and more cost-effective, even though the recipients filling out the surveys are rewarded for their effort.
